What Shall I Offer?

I found myself reflecting on this scene while I painted and the irony of a  young boy gifting flowers to a girl who already has baskets full of them. As we know, in young love, there isn't much one can offer the other except for a willing and sincere heart- and as time goes on, this continues to be the best offering one can give another.

As always, there can be layers of meaning and this image led me to consider how it applies to our relationship with Christ. We truly cannot give Him anything He doesn't already have, except for our hearts. And it is the offering of our hearts that holds the greatest value.
